4 alarm fire on Main St. in Millers Falls

MILLERS FAllS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Update: The four-alarm fire at Whistle Stop Cafe in Millers Falls early Wednesday morning brought in mutual aid from across the area, including the Orange Fire Department who assisted with cutting a vent hole in the roof to assist with interior operations. All residents of the mixed-use building were safely evacuated and the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

A 4-alarm fire broke out at 29 E. Main Street in Millers Falls Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Crews from several area departments responded to the scene.

A first-floor restaurant sustained significant damage before the fire spread to second-floor apartments. Three residents have been displaced.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Turners Falls Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
