Aldi’s Site Plan Approved By Greenfield Planning Board

Aldi’s Site Plan Approved By Greenfield Planning Board

(Greenfield, MA) The Greenfield Planning Board has approved the site plan for the new Aldi’s grocery store that is set to be built behind the McDoanld’s on the Mohawk Trail. One of the major concerns expressed by the community is the impact to traffic in an area with frequent accidents, however the site planners are not anticipating a significant impact as traffic improvements such as additional signals will be part of the new construction. Another concern are the potential environmental impacts of the almost 20,000 square foot building. The site plan will include a grass swale low-impact technique, high efficiency construction, and solar-ready design.

07/06/2023 The Greenfield Aldi’s project is moving forward with a virtual site visit by the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act office. The site for the new near 20,000 square foot grocery store is Robbins Road behind the McDonald’s on the Mohawk Trail. The MEPA visit is an opportunity to receive advice and comments from agencies, officials, and citizens regarding which environmental issues, if any, are significant for this project.
