Four Troopers charged in case of training death to be suspended without pay

FRAMINGHAM, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The four members of the Massachusetts State Police who are facing criminal charges as a result of an independent investigation into the death of Trooper Enrique Delgado Garcia, will be suspended with pay after a duty status hearing.

Delgado Garcia died as a result of injuries sustained while training to become a Trooper in September of 2024. 

From the Massachusetts State Police:

In accordance with Article 6 of its rules and regulations, the Massachusetts State Police convened duty status hearings to determine the duty status of the four members who will face criminal charges as a result of the independent investigation into Trooper Enrique Delgado Garcia’s death.
The Department reviewed all available information and determined the four individuals will be suspended with pay.
As in any disciplinary process, should additional information become available to the Department through the judicial process, it may convene a subsequent duty status hearing to evaluate the new information.
