HEATH, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Heath Parks and Recreation Committee has raised over $750 so far to fund the town’s share of a state Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities, PARC, grant to re-surface the basketball and pickleball court in Town Center.

The Parks and Recreation Committee held a clinic with former Boston Pickle Club instructor and silver-winner in the 2025 English Open in Telford, England, Linda Ingram in August to raise the funds. Group and semi-private lessons were offered by Ingram to raise funds for the court.

More funds will need to be raised for the project, donations are being accepted by check to the Town of Heath with a note that it is for the P & R Recreation Fund. The grant has not yet been awarded to the town, although a representation from PARC has visited the site. In the event the town does not receive the grant, the funds will be used for other P & R initiatives.
