HS Basketball: Frontier, Franklin Tech cruise at home, Greenfield picks up road win

TURNERS FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Franklin Tech Eagles shook off an unsteady start and dominated the Mohawk Warriors 66-34 in boys basketball Tuesday night in Turners Falls.

Brody Hicks had the hot hand early on for the Eagles with ten points in the first half, finishing with 15. Nolyn Stafford had a game-high 16 points as Tech had three scorers in double digits.

The Frontier boys continued their domination of the Hampshire League North with a 74-27 win over Athol in South Deerfield. The Redhawks are now 11-1 overall on the season, and a perfect 7-0 in league play.

The Greenfield Green Wave picked up a win on the road, defeating Hampshire Regional, 67-63. Grayson Thomas erupted for 34 points in the win.

Elsewhere, Hopkins Academy kept Pioneer winless with a 69-36 win over the Panthers. Mahar won at home against Smith Academy, 57-42. Turners Falls fell to McCann Tech, 60-54.

In girls basketball Tuesday night, Mohawk defeated Franklin Tech, 65-44. Greenfield was a winner at home, 48-37 over Smith Academy. Pioneer defeated Hopkins Academy, 45-31. Mahar knocked off Ware on the road, 44-41. Turners Falls fell to Pathfinder, 52-28.
