GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield’s Economic Development Committee heard from the Director of Community and Economic Development, Amy Cahillane, on the results of the public input process for the Request for Proposals in the development of the Hope Street parking lot.

Cahillane held several input sessions across the community and said she’d received 58 responses from in-person discussion, 277 responses via online and physical forms, and 6 responses through direct communications. If the property is to be a mixed-use space, in terms of commercial uses the community expressed a desire to see a childcare facility, professional offices, a community space, and overwhelmingly small retail and restaurants.

The input from the community will inform the writing of the RFP which is tentatively expected to be ready in late June.
