June 3rd Hit And Run Vehicle, Operator Identified

(South Deerfield, MA) The Deerfield Police Department has identified the alleged vehicle and operator of a hit and run crash that occurred on June 3rd in the area of Greenfield Savings Bank in South Deerfield. Officer Fitzgerald was able to use the bank’s camera footage and vehicle parts left behind in the crash to identify the vehicle in Greenfield and obtain a statement from the operator admitting to the crash. The operator received a citation and will be appearing in Greenfield District Court on charges of leaving the scene of a crash, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and operating outside the proper lane of travel. Additionally, the RMV has revoked the operator’s driver’s license, according to the Deerfield Police Department.
